In a magical forest on 2 acres beside a sparkling stream sits this upscale cabin awaiting a romantic couple’s getaway or special family vacation. Away from it all but close enough to downtown Blowing Rock (6 miles), Tweetsie & App Ski Mtn (9miles), & Blue Ridge Parkway. Sleeps 6 but not always suitable for 6 adults: 3rd bedroom is an open, kids’ loft with twin beds.
No mountain view but it won’t be missed!

Forest and Stream sits in a beautiful forest, next to a rushing stream, in the Blackberry Valley. Nestled peacefully below the hilltops of Blowing Rock there is no mountain view but it won't be missed.
It is a 6 mile or around 15 minute (mostly uphill) drive in to town and the speed limit in and around town is 35mph. It is a 9 mile drive to Tweetsie Railroad or Appalachian Ski Mountain. So it is away from it all but within ready access of it all. For me, Forest and Stream is an "audible exhale on arrival" place. I trust it will be for you too.
IF YOU WISH TO BE WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE TO DOWNTOWN BLOWING ROCK, OR IF YOU WISH TO BE ON A HILLTOP, OVERLOOKING A MOUNTAIN VIEW, THEN FOREST AND STREAM IS NOT FOR YOU.
The restored, barn wood cabin blends naturally into its forest and stream setting. A remodeled, rustic-modern interior gives the charm of the past a trendy new edge. It has been deliberately designed for your relaxation and regeneration.

Children are very welcome and there are toys and a travel crib with sheets and blankets for a little one. The cabin is NOT child-proof. There are stairs; there is a fireplace and a fire pit; there is water around the cabin - all of which require careful supervision of little children by their parents.

The living room has a fireplace stove insert for winter warmth. Only dry, natural wood may be burned. NO WET WOOD, WOOD FROM OUTSIDE, NOR ARTIFICIAL LOGS MAY BE BURNED. Suitable wood is available at local grocery stores like Food Lion. Instructions for making a brisk fire are given in the cabin manual which is in the kitchen.
The smart TV in the living room will stream your subscription streaming services. A Gathre floor cushion provides extra lounging for movie or game nights.
Sonos speakers in the guest bedroom and in the basement can be controlled using the Sonos app allowing you to stream music and podcasts from your network and streaming services. All of the major music streaming subscription services are supported.
The queen-size, Room & Board beds in the first-level bedrooms have pressure-relieving memory foam mattresses, ultra soft Mellanni sheets, and Tuft & Needle pillows. The twin beds in the loft have Tuft & Needle mattresses and pillows on Room & Board platform beds. USB outlets are easily accessible near each bed for charging your devices.
Heating and cooling is via a high-efficiency, Mitsubishi, mini-split system that is super quiet for a peaceful night's rest. One bedroom has a ceiling fan. The others have floor fans available if needed.
The bathrooms supply Ginger Lily Farms shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap, all paraben, sulfate, phosphate and gluten-free.
A full-size washer and dryer with free & clear detergent, and an iron and ironing board are available.
The entire cabin and outdoor area is designed and dedicated to the comfort and enjoyment of you, our guest.
The only areas that are not accessible to guests are some closets in the laundry which contain supplies for the cleaning and care of the space.
